Big day today and it's only getting started!
We started the day with a who's who of Emergency Managers in a morning breakfast game. And everybody loves games!
National VOAD's best and brightest showed off their skills this morning in a game-show like atmosphere (think: 1980s style Celebrity Hollywood Squares). They answered questions posed by the host - some of them silly answers some of them serious. For example, did you know Arizona is the only state not in Tornado Alley? Neither did I.
The breakfast was just part of the day. There are several workshops going on including clinical pastoral education, learning about what donors and volunteers need to know about the IRS and pandemic preparedness.
One of the things I'm really looking forward to is seeing the Dragon Legends Acrobats from Orlando during. That should be really entertaining.
On a more serious note, this afternoon members of VOAD will be packing more than 36,000 pounds of hurricane packs this afternoon. That should be fun - to see everyone in their logo shirts helping out and working together.
